In the Asia Cup 2022 (Asia Cup-2022), Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets. Najibullah Zadran hit a six on the ball of Mossadegh Hussain. Najeebullah 43 while Ibrahim Zadran scored 42 runs not out. Afghanistan bowler Mujeebur Rehman worked his magic with his bowling spin first. Then Najeebullah Zadran and Ibrahim Zadran played a vital role in defeating Bangladesh with the bat. Thus, the Afghanistan team managed to enter the Super-4.

For Afghanistan, Najeebullah Zadran played a stormy innings of 43 runs off 17 balls with the help of 6 sixes and a four. Apart from them, Ibrahim Zadran scored 42 runs off 41 balls with the help of 4 fours and returned not out. Hazratullah zazai scored 23 runs off 26 balls hitting three fours. Afghanistan's first blow came at the score of 15, when Rahmanullah Garbaz (11) was stumped by Shakib Al Hasan.

 Mohammad Nabi was dismissed lbw by Saifuddin. Hazratullah zazai was made a victim by Mossadegh Hussain. Najeebullah hit a winning six off Mossadegh's ball. Bangladesh team scored 127 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs thanks to Mossadegh Hussain (48 not out). Bangladesh's opening batsmen Mohammad Naeem (6) and Inamul Haque (5) lost their wickets. The 21-year-old off-spinner Mujeebur Rehman bowled Mohammad Naeem on a carrom ball and dismissed Inamul Haq lbw. Skipper Shakib-ul-Hasan (11) hit Naveen-ul-Haq for two consecutive fours, but Mujibur-ur-Rehman dismissed him lbw in the next over as well. Bangladesh team could score only 28 runs for three wickets in the power play.
